Within the Isuzu Group, Isuzu Technical Center of America (ITCA) serves as the Research & Development center in North America, providing expertise in planning, engineering, testing, validation, and compliance of commercial vehicles and engines. Through cooperation with Isuzu Motors Limited and other Isuzu Group companies in North America and around the world, ITCA is committed to the goal of engineering value into our North American products to provide absolute customer satisfaction, performance, efficiency, durability, safety, and sustainable technologies while meeting the highest environmental standards and diagnostic requirements.
Through the successful operations of the Isuzu Group companies, over 500,000 Isuzu trucks have been delivered in North America since 1984, and Isuzu trucks have been the best-selling low cab forward trucks in America since 1986.

Sustainability
In alignment with the sustainability initiative of Isuzu Motors Limited (IML), ITCA is committed to minimizing the environmental impacts of our operations to contribute to a sustainable society through innovation. ITCA has taken proactive action to lower our use of electricity, water, and other natural resources while reducing our CO2 footprint through investments in energy-saving equipment. Concrete actions include the following:
- Electricity
In 2021, initiated replacement of fluorescents with LED lighting fixtures in office exterior/interior and lab areas, cutting electricity consumption in half
In 2021, replaced 2 HVAC units, resulting in a reduction of 10% in electricity consumption per unit
In 2023, replaced 2 more HVAC units, resulting in a reduction of 13% and 13.5% in electricity consumption per respective unit
- CO2
In 2021, replaced 2 HVAC units, resulting in a reduction of 10% in CO2 emissions per unit
In 2023, replaced 2 more HVAC units, resulting in a reduction of 11.5% and 13.5% in CO2 emissions per respective unit
- Water
In 2015, replaced cooling tower, improving performance and significantly reducing water consumption
In 2021, completed the upgrade of all office water fixtures to low-consumption fixtures, reducing consumption by 30% - Disposal
In 2021, enhanced our recycling efforts by restructuring dumpsters for greater separation (e.g. cardboard) and by increasing pickup frequency and number of locations to improve paper recycling
ITCA continues to identify and move toward realization of further sustainability opportunities.
